I know what it’s like to be a writer who, because of your job or domestic responsibilities or personal situation, can’t get out to join writing groups or classes, and doesn’t feel comfortable joining things online. I offer a feedback/critique service for short stories or novel extracts, with a charge of £10 per thousand words. If you send me something under a thousand words I’m afraid it’s still £10, because although I want to help, I still have to pay the electricity bill!

 

Please note that this isn’t a proof-reading service, it’s feedback on the content and overall structure of the piece.

 I take time and trouble over any work I’m sent, so bear in mind you won’t get it back the day after tomorrow. For work up to three thousand words, I aim to get it back to you in two weeks. If there’s going to be a delay, I’ll let you know before I start work on it. Up to ten thousand words, the average time is four weeks. More than ten thousand – to be honest, it depends on my own writing schedule, but I’ll let you know when you make your initial enquiry.

 When you send your work, please put it in the body of the email. Attachments can be dodgy!
